Bicycles are imported from China or India, sometimes from neighbouring Uganda. Spare parts are scarce, and there are many bicycles built from reused parts of other bicycles. Left: Ambika Cycles is a manufacture based in Ludhiana, an industrial city in the northern state of Punjab in India. The enterprise was established in 1970.
